In the context of the improvement of their respective city administration, the delegates who participated in the Colloquium face a wide variety of challenges, ranging from questioning the role and merits of public administration to how to achieve progressive and meaningful improvements within their city administration.

 

All of these initiatives have a common goal: to make the city governments more responsive to the needs of their citizens.

To increase responsiveness, the improvements to the city administration should not simply seek to offer more services similar to current services, it must try to reorient the functions of public administration in the face of changes in the community and society.

​

The city administration must consider both the proliferation of forces being exerted outside the public sphere and the changing role of the Boynton Beach city public authorities themselves.
